Brashear at Atlanta December 20, 2007

The Tigers get a pair of conference road wins to finish out the 2007 portion of their season.

The Brashear Lady Tigers and the Atlanta Lady Hornets met at Atlanta Thursday. In the early going, neither team could gain the upper hand leaving the scored knotted 11-11 after the 1st quarter. Brashear managed to outscored Atlanta 17-10 in the 2nd quarter to take a 28-21 lead into the locker room. The Lady Hornets came out strong in the 3rd and battled back to within 1 at 40-39 after the 3rd quarter, but Brashear put them away with a 22 point 4th quarter to win 62-46. Christina Scudder and Hailee Kelsey were both in double figures for Brashear with 24 and 11 points respectively. Both had double-doubles, Scudder with rebounds, and Kelsey with assists. Jessi Hill also had 9 points, Caroline Slavin added 8, Stephanie Elsea had 6, and Abby McKim and Emily Ladwig had 2 points each. Tiffany Watson led Atlanta scoring with 12, Beth Voss had 10, Tricia Pore added 7, Katelyn Wiggins scored 5, Shelby Tipton and Miranda Hruska had 3 each, and Carmen McLain, Amanda Spearman, and Nicole Sloan scored 2 points each.

In the boy’s game, Brashear took a slim 12-11 lead after 1 quarter, then used a 26-point 2nd quarter to take a 38-20 lead into halftime. Brashear led 52-30 after 3 quarters and cruised to a 69-41 win. Kale Watson and Jacob Shipman were in double figures with 14 and 11 points repectively. Justin Hazen and Ryan Ferdig each added 8 points, David Anderson and Trae Treasure both had 6, Anthony Ambrosia and Matt Thomas put in 5 each, Kiley Watson had 4, and Jacob Owen scored 2 points. For Atlanta, Zeke Garnett had 15 points, Javaun West had 9, Travis Miller scored 5 points, Cody Miller and Chris Cox had 4 each, Jamill Teter had 3, and Jesse Likes scored 1 point.
